Puccini's Trittico at The Met

Yes, I saw God at the Met Opera last night. Actually, it was a Goddess... in fact Two Goddesses.

Patricia Racette and Stephanie Blythe. Two American sopranos at the peak of their game. And they gave us a not-to-be-forgotten evening.

Anything I write here couldn't possibly be additive to the performances, except to share with you one of those very rare moments, during Racette's 'senza mamma' aria in Suor Angelica, when the entire house listened in complete, awed silence (and tears) until, at the conclusion, there was a pandemonium of applause, bravas, screams, hoots, and hollers. I was moved...and shaken...

A night to remember, in every way.
