How times have changed....

Back in the day, when I was a young sprout at Time Inc., company policy allowed us to invite any other Time Inc.er to lunch, and the company would pay.  My boss set a limit of $25 for two as the practical standard (this was in prehistoric times, mind you...).

Today's business lunch at Metrazur: one beer (not mine), two mid-priced entrees, a side dish (shared), and two espressos.  Tab, with tip: $88.  

At tonight's dinner with friends, the talk (of course) turned to politics. We are scared.....

They picked up the tab.  I left my favorite gloves in a cab (I think).
